Even this year, the feast of Epiphany gathered the citizens of Berati near the Osum River waiting for the blessing of the waters. This is one of the greatest feasts of the year in this city, because almost everyone participates, despite their religious background.

     On January 6^th, early in the morning, hundred faithful from various neighborhoods of Berati headed to the church of Saint Spiridhonos.  

     After following the Holy Liturgy, which was lead by his holiness, bishop of Berati, Ignatios all the people directed to the Osum River to attend the service for the blessing of the waters.   

     During his speech, bishop Ignatios emphasized the significance of this day. The doctrine of the Orthodox Church is based on the Holy Trinity.

     This is particularly what we celebrate today, the revelation of the Holy Trinity, which is revealed to each individual.

     By the revelation of the Holy Trinity, our faith was completed and was made known to all the nations.

     Later on, as to the tradition, the cross was threw into the river, and many young people tried to get it.
